Not Your Ordinary Freebie!

Okay here's a little freebie designed to shock and delight.  This texture is full of surprises so try it out in different blending modes to be wowed (is that a word?) by the effects.

Okay!  Since you insist - I will show you what a 'powerful' texture can do to this ordinary, little photograph.  :)

POW!  It's not called "Delightfully Shocking" for nothing.  Of course, you can tame down the effect with your own artful manipulations.  This was processed only in Hard Light at 200%  100% opacity.  I may play with it more later.  You can always click on it for a larger view.

Don't forget you can always achieve a more dreamy, desaturated look by using Screen or Lighten Blend Modes with dark textures.  There's no end to the options and possibilities it seems, with Photoshop.
