Hi Everyone! I have just made the switch from ".blogspot.com" to my own ".com" on both of my blogs. I've owned the dot com domains for a while and figured it was about time that I use them. Blogger gives you the option of switching to a custom domain by going to Design>Settings>Publishing>Switch to Custom Domain. The great thing is that Blogger still remains the 'host' of your blog. Have any of you made this switch, and how did it go for you?
I am noticing a couple of glitches - I've lost my 'Fav Blogs List' in my sidebar and have been informed by one dear follower that when she tries to visit here she keeps getting 'redirected', but not ending up here. A few comments have made their way here since I made the switch. So ... I'm scratching my head ... wondering what is going on ... ???
I don't know how to fix these problems and have a call into my favorite computer technician, but he probably has more important fish to fry right now. If any of you computer savvy peeps know how to fix these problems, I'd love to hear!!!
In the meantime, please be patient until I can get these problems fixed. I apologize for any inconvenience any of you have experienced. I've got my fingers crossed that this does not affect Photo Art Friday which opens for early birds tonight at 7:00 p.m. EST.

ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, new here, but wanted to comment that when I switched to my own domain I had some glitches for a week or so and they seemed to magically go away. All but the problem I had with my new posts not showing up on other people's sidebar lists of their favorite blogs until HOURS and HOURS after I posted. I hope you're not having that issue.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I have a little list of photog blogs on my sidebar that I will add you to. I am not a photography only blog, but a lot of my readers are just getting interested in photography so I thought they might enjoy checking out your blog.
