Welcome, dear digital artists,
to Photo Art Friday!
to Photo Art Friday!
Are you ready for this week's photo art exhibition?
Well, just link-up any piece of your own photo art creations or one using the optional theme for this week of "hardware". Hardware comes in many forms beyond the first things that come to mind, and please feel free to interpret this and any theme here with your own unique spin.
Here's what I am contributing to our art exhibition this week:
This image comes from an up-close photo of new, shiny playground equipment. Sunlight is reflecting through a grated platform, and the pieces of equipment are held together by big, shiny bolts.
Next week's Photo Art Friday, (Feb. 1st-2nd) optional theme is to create a piece of photo art that is:
MINIMALIST
MINIMALIST
Minimalism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Minimalism describes movements in various forms of art and design, especially visual art and music,
where the work is set out to expose the essence or identity of a subject through eliminating all non-essential forms,
features or concepts.
Minimalism is any design or style in which the simplest and fewest elements are used to create the maximum effect.
This sound really interesting and I will try to stick to the theme as far as I can :)
ReplyDeleteI will be back later with the piece of art I am doing
lol, the first shot made me think of clothing for a summers dress reaching to the feet. :) Thanks for hosting. :)
ReplyDeleteBonnie I love the textures and colours in the first image. It looks like you shot through frosted glass. Cool. Valerie
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I do a lot of different kind of art: photography, painting and I love editing photos - now I'm just going to have to edit my photos and turn them into digital art just so I can participate in this blog hop, lol.
ReplyDeleteWow - great perspective on the playground equipment - and love the shot of the bicycles.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, This was a fun challenge this week. The bicycle picture is so graphic but still simple. Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI too love those texture effects, gorgeous, rich, sharp and perfectly composed too!
ReplyDeleteStriking and powerful images! For me, the first one made me think of a stringed instrumet - a cello, perhaps :) Love work that catches the imagination...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the work you do with this, Bonnie!
You always have the most unique photo art Friday pieces - love that first one, the colors and textures, so cool! And P.S. I'm already loving that warm glow, and think I already have my art ready to hang for next week! ;) Sadly, I went off theme this week, I know it doesn't matter but I do like the challenge.
ReplyDeleteWonderful processing on both, but I absolutely love the bicycles! So striking!
ReplyDeleteSome beautiful hardware here, Bonnie. I like the editing on both images. There's something about bicycles all lined up in a bike rack that just makes me want to photograph them. You've done a nice job of it. Thanks for hosting again this year.
ReplyDeleteNew here -- looking for such a blog to see photos and be challenged..

Ah Ha, minimalism, just what I need, great shots and editing this week. Cheers
ReplyDeleteI love the playground equipment!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and editing!
ReplyDeletewell Minimalsim is going to be an interesting challenge - good to be stretched. Love the palyground equipment - great colours and contrast of smooth and chunky
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is the bike pic. I really like the monochrome and linear treatment.
ReplyDeleteLove your pics!! Enjoyed this week's challenge!!

Nice to join the party, thank you.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I love that shot of the bikes! Your photo art is always so inspiring. Thanks as always for hosting!
ReplyDeleteloved this theme Bonnie - your wonderful, shiny playground is almost an abstract!
ReplyDeleteyour photographs are truly original, Bonnie!! I love the reflections and the togetherness of the bikes. it warmed me and reminded me of when I used to ride my bike to school and we never needed to lock them, just "park" them in the bike racks. this brought me a big smile to recall.
ReplyDeleteBonnie- It does take a lot of hardware to make a bike. I have almost used a bike shot as well. But another time. 2013 is not coming in with much gentleness. Alas I am very thankful for the photo prompts to move my creative muse forward. xo teri
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fantastic, love textures and tones. Love the bike pic. I am new to your blog, thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteLove the bikes. And...true to your art...not the usual shot of bikes.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I would never even think of taking a photo of bolts on playground equipment. Very creative!
Thanks for the textures, and your wonderful inspiration.
Have a great weekend.
Cyklarna blir min favorit. Thanks for the texture. Ha de gott i helgen.
ReplyDeleteBonnie these are wonderful. I really love that first piece and the fact that it's playground equipment (who would have guessed). The play of the light is just delightful in the piece. The bicycle piece is also very nice.
ReplyDeleteLove the bicycles shot!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, I love your photo art! I am partial to bikes as I just photos of them. It's wonderful being back and running with photo art Friday...
ReplyDeleteI meant to say I just love photos of bikes.. lol! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, Bonnie. I struggled with this weeks prompt and then time got away from me. I am away from home for four days so I didn't post ... But, I am amazed with what you and all of the other PAfers have done with it. Very impressive ... oh, that I would have more time. That said, I am already thinking about Minimalizing ... great prompt. As all of us tend to allow issues in our live become bigger than they really are, I think this will be a good philosophical study for us ... Great idea. Now I have to get back to my business with my birds, but will see you next week for sure.

Your first piece is such a great abstract. I would have never guessed it was on the playground. All the line and color really appeals to me. LOVE the bikes!! It feels very urban and hustle bustle even though there's no movement in the shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie for always encouraging us to push the envelope (and guiding the way).
Very cool, totally abstract quality in your first image. I wouldn't have thought of a bike as being just one big assembly of hardware, but you are so right! Fun to look at ordinary objects with a different point of view.
ReplyDeleteJust made my first purchase of the Digital Dust textures..I am so excited! They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI really like the colours and lines in that first piece, Bonnie. Thanks again for hosting us and your generosity with the free textures.
