Chapter one

”Im pregnant ”

He looked up from the files scattered on the dark brown oak table, staring at her for a second it dawned on him what she said.

An overwhelming feeling engulfed him, he could only walk up to her.

Pulling her into his arms, he buried his face into her neck as the soothing scent of vanilla filled his nose

Laughing she hugged him back.

Withdrawing she lifted his face, the edge of his eyes and nose were red, making her heart skip a beat.

A ring interrupted the warm moment, looking towards the phone, he picked her up and walked to the only couch in the study, sitting he placed her on his laps, and stretched to the left side where a round glass table was.

Picking the phone he didn speak. He knew his voice would sound cracky.

”Good morning sir… ” his Secretary voice came from the other end. ”… sorry sir I called your phone twice. ”

”Ohh ” he recalled hearing the vibration from the table earlier.

”What is the matter? ”

”Sir, the people from the public office for the simple project came earlier, you said to inform you when they have signed it ”

Simple project is the companys newest project, two years of planning had been put into it before this.

The project target audience were the low class, to make housing accessible as best as possible.

Hearing this a smiled spread across his face, today can be marked as one of the best days for Him.

”Alright, when you come tomorrow bring the contract along ” after receiving an affirmation, the call ended

”James? ” He could see the curiosity in her eyes.

”Mm… He said holding her hands…we got the approval for simple project ”

”That is awesome ” her face lit up ”lets celebrate this Tes ” she got up nearly falling down.

”Anything you want ” he said holding her firmly.

Lara and Tesfaye have been lovers for three years and knew each other since their late days in high school when Lara and her family moved into the neighborhood. She was that next door neighbor filled with sunshine.

Looking into his brown orbs, she could see her white teeth.

”Where should we go? ” Lara asked

”Anywhere you want to go ”

”Then… ”looking at him with anticipation …how about we both cook? ”

Frowning his face ” no you
e not allowed to cook, just rest ”

Frowning she pushed his hands away and got up

”I said take care of me, not cage me ”

”Don be mad okay, I just don want you to stress ” she wasn that angry, but she just didn want him to develop a bad habit of treating her like an egg.

so she decided to walk out of the office and marched down the stairs towards the kitchen which almost runs right into the living room, but the large brown organic dining table was placed in the middle.

Sighing he walked after her.

”I would cook you assist ” she couldn suppress the smile on her face.

Entering the kitchen, the large white marble counter spotted in the middle came into view, which had the cooking gas mounted on top.

Lara moved over to the counter and sat down while Tesfaye began to roll his sleeves up

”What do you want to eat? ”

Settling on the high chair, she supported her chin with her hands as she thought about it

While she was thinking he moved to the double door fridge at the right side eight feet away from the sink and removed some grapes, washing them, he placed it in front of her
